It was only fitting that the dedication ceremony of a World War II-era barracks that will soon become home to Orange County’s only veterans museum took place on the day the nation honors those who’ve served.
The more than 400 people who attended the dedication of Heroes Hall at the OC Fairgrounds on Friday listened as local officials praised the two-story renovated building and recalled the sacrifices of America’s veterans.
Janet Nguyen spoke with admiration of Vietnam Vets who fought alongside her father, a South Vietnamese soldier. County Supervisor Michelle Steele thanked the veterans for helping defend her homeland, South Korea, from the north during the Korean War.
